62 Check for illegal character '=' in environment variable names.
63
64 Make sure the string passed as variable name does not contain a '='
65 character. This not only prevents the common error or typing
66 "setenv foo=bar" instead of "setenv foo bar", but (more importantly)
67 also closes a backdoor which allowed to delete write-protected
68 environment variables, for example by using "setenv ethaddr=".

80 Don't pass any debug options directly to the assembler
81
82 When passing the -g option to gcc, gcc automatically selects a
83 suitable --g<format> option to pass on to the assembler.
84 Thus, there's no point in forcing a specific debug option on the
85 assembler using the -Wa mechanism.

149 Added support for Multi-Image files that contain a device tree
b985b5d6 150
2b2a40be
WD
151 If a Multi-Image file contains a third image we try to use it as a
152 device tree. The device tree image is assumed to be uncompressed in the
153 image file. We automatically allocate space for the device tree in memory
154 and provide an 8k pad to allow more than a reasonable amount of growth.
b985b5d6 155
2b2a40be
WD
156 Additionally, a device tree that was contained in flash will now automatically
157 get copied to system memory as part of boot. Previously an error was
158 reported if one tried to boot a device tree that was in flash.

221 Add common serial driver for Atmel AT32 and AT91 chips
222 Patch by Haavard Skinnemoen, 06 Sep 2006
b985b5d6 223
7c52c4b9
WD
224 This is a first attempt at creating a common serial driver for Atmel
225 chips. For now, it supports the AT32AP7000 AVR32 chip, but it should
226 be possible to support AT91RM9200 and other ARM-based chips with some
227 minor modifications.
b985b5d6 228
7c52c4b9
WD
229 There's nothing fundamentally AVR32-specific in this driver, but it
230 does use some features which are currently only defined for the
231 AT32AP CPU port:
232 * pm_get_clock_freq: Obtain the clock frequency of a given domain
233 * gd->console_uart: A "struct device" containing information about

WD
234 register mappings, gpio resources and clocks associated with the
235 UART device.

237 For more information about these features, please see the "AT32AP

244 Add AT32AP CPU and AT32AP7000 SoC support
245 Patch by Haavard Skinnemoen, 06 Sep 2006
b985b5d6 246
7c52c4b9
WD
247 This patch adds support for the AT32AP CPU family and the AT32AP7000
248 chip, which is the first chip implementing the AVR32 architecture.
b985b5d6 249
7c52c4b9
WD
250 The AT32AP CPU core is a high-performance implementation featuring a
251 7-stage pipeline, separate instruction- and data caches, and a MMU.
252 For more information, please see the "AVR32 AP Technical Reference":

WD
256 In addition to this, the AT32AP7000 chip comes with a large set of
257 integrated peripherals, many of which are shared with the AT91 series
258 of ARM-based microcontrollers from Atmel. Full data sheet is

394 When CONFIG_OF_FLAG_TREE is set, the compiler complains that 'len' in
395 do_bootm_linux() may be uninitialized. There is no possibility in the
396 current code that len will get used uninitialized, but this fix follows
397 the existing convention of setting both len and data to zero at the same
398 time.

b985b5d6 860

WD
861 Added code for reading and writing Mac addresses to/from ID EEPROM(0x57).
862 With attached patch, we can use command "mac/mac read/mac save/"
863 to read and write EEPROM under u-boot prompt.
b985b5d6 864
7c52c4b9
WD
865 U-boot will calculate the checksum of EEPROM while bootup,
866 if it is right, then u-boot will check whether the mac address
867 of eTSEC0/1/2/3 is availalbe (non-zero).
b985b5d6 868
7c52c4b9
WD
869 If there is mac address availabe in EEPROM, u-boot will use it,
870 otherewise, u-boot will use the mac address defined in
871 MPC8641HPCN.h. This matches the requirement to set unique mac address
872 for each TSEC port.
