eventpoll: support busy poll per epoll instance
Allow busy polling on a per-epoll context basis. The per-epoll context
usec timeout value is preferred, but the pre-existing system wide sysctl
value is still supported if it specified.
busy_poll_usecs is a u32, but in a follow up patch the ioctl provided to
the user only allows setting a value from 0 to S32_MAX.

Octeontx2-af: Fetch MAC channel info from firmware
Packet ingress and egress MAC/serdes channel numbers are configurable
on CN10K series of silicons. These channel numbers inturn used while
installing MCAM rules to match ingress/egress port. Fetch these channel
numbers from firmware at driver init time.

Introduce generic percpu page_pools allocator.
Moreover add page_pool_create_percpu() and cpuid filed in page_pool struct

net: phy: aquantia: clear PMD Global Transmit Disable bit during init
PMD Global Transmit Disable bit should be cleared for normal operation.
This should be HW default, however I found that on Asus RT-AX89X that uses
AQR113C PHY and firmware 5.4 this bit is set by default.
With this bit set the AQR cannot achieve a link with its link-partner and
it took me multiple hours of digging through the vendor GPL source to find
this out, so lets always clear this bit during .config_init() to avoid a
situation like this in the future.
The prologue to codel is using BSD-3 clause and GPL-2 boiler plate
language. Replace it by using SPDX. The automated treewide scan in
commit d2912cb15bdd ("treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with
SPDX - rule 500") did not pickup dual licensed code.

can: canxl: add virtual CAN network identifier support
CAN XL data frames contain an 8-bit virtual CAN network identifier (VCID).
A VCID value of zero represents an 'untagged' CAN XL frame.
To receive and send these optional VCIDs via CAN_RAW sockets a new socket
option CAN_RAW_XL_VCID_OPTS is introduced to define/access VCID content:
- tx: set the outgoing VCID value by the kernel (one fixed 8-bit value)
- tx: pass through VCID values from the user space (e.g. for traffic replay)
- rx: apply VCID receive filter (value/mask) to be passed to the user space
With the 'tx pass through' option CAN_RAW_XL_VCID_TX_PASS all valid VCID
values can be sent, e.g. to replay full qualified CAN XL traffic.
The VCID value provided for the CAN_RAW_XL_VCID_TX_SET option will
override the VCID value in the struct canxl_frame.prio defined for
CAN_RAW_XL_VCID_TX_PASS when both flags are set.
With a rx_vcid_mask of zero all possible VCID values (0x00 - 0xFF) are
passed to the user space when the CAN_RAW_XL_VCID_RX_FILTER flag is set.
Without this flag only untagged CAN XL frames (VCID = 0x00) are delivered
to the user space (default).
The 8-bit VCID is stored inside the CAN XL prio element (only in CAN XL
frames!) to not interfere with other CAN content or the CAN filters
provided by the CAN_RAW sockets and kernel infrastruture.

ipv4: Set the routing scope properly in ip_route_output_ports().
Set scope automatically in ip_route_output_ports() (using the socket
SOCK_LOCALROUTE flag). This way, callers don't have to overload the
tos with the RTO_ONLINK flag, like RT_CONN_FLAGS() does.
For callers that don't pass a struct sock, this doesn't change anything
as the scope is still set to RT_SCOPE_UNIVERSE when sk is NULL.
Callers that passed a struct sock and used RT_CONN_FLAGS(sk) or
RT_CONN_FLAGS_TOS(sk, tos) for the tos are modified to use
ip_sock_tos(sk) and RT_TOS(tos) respectively, as overloading tos with
the RTO_ONLINK flag now becomes unnecessary.
In drivers/net/amt.c, all ip_route_output_ports() calls use a 0 tos
parameter, ignoring the SOCK_LOCALROUTE flag of the socket. But the sk
parameter is a kernel socket, which doesn't have any configuration path
for setting SOCK_LOCALROUTE anyway. Therefore, ip_route_output_ports()
will continue to initialise scope with RT_SCOPE_UNIVERSE and amt.c
doesn't need to be modified.
Also, remove RT_CONN_FLAGS() and RT_CONN_FLAGS_TOS() from route.h as
these macros are now unused.
The objective is to eventually remove RTO_ONLINK entirely to allow
converting ->flowi4_tos to dscp_t. This will ensure proper isolation
between the DSCP and ECN bits, thus minimising the risk of introducing
bugs where TOS values interfere with ECN.

ice: Fix debugfs with devlink reload
During devlink reload it is needed to remove debugfs entries
correlated with only one PF. ice_debugfs_exit() removes all
entries created by ice driver so we can't use it.
Introduce ice_debugfs_pf_deinit() in order to release PF's
debugfs entries. Move ice_debugfs_exit() call to ice_module_exit(),
it makes more sense since ice_debugfs_init() is called in
ice_module_init() and not in ice_probe().

ice: Remove and readd netdev during devlink reload
Recent changes to the devlink reload (commit 9b2348e2d6c9
("devlink: warn about existing entities during reload-reinit"))
force the drivers to destroy devlink ports during reinit.
Adjust ice driver to this requirement, unregister netdvice, destroy
devlink port. ice_init_eth() was removed and all the common code
between probe and reload was moved to ice_load().
During devlink reload we can't take devl_lock (it's already taken)
and in ice_probe() we have to lock it. Use devl_* variant of the API
which does not acquire and release devl_lock. Guard ice_load()
with devl_lock only in case of probe.

ice: Add helper function ice_is_generic_mac
E800 series devices have a couple of quirks:
1. Sideband control queues are not supported
2. The registers that the driver needs to program for the "Precision
Time Protocol (PTP)" feature are different for E800 series devices
compared to other devices supported by this driver.
Both these require conditional logic based on the underlying device we
are dealing with.
The function ice_is_sbq_supported added by commit 8f5ee3c477a8
("ice: add support for sideband messages") addresses (1).
The same function can be used to address (2) as well
but this just looks weird readability wise in cases that have nothing
to do with sideband control queues:

For these cases, the function ice_is_generic_mac introduced by this
patch communicates the idea/intention better. Also rework
ice_is_sbq_supported to use this new function.
As side-band queue is supported for E825C devices, it's mac_type is

m_can supports submitting multiple transmits with one register write.
This is an interesting option to reduce the number of SPI transfers for
peripheral chips.
The m_can_tx_op is extended with a bool that signals if it is the last
transmission and the submit should be executed immediately.
The worker then writes the skb to the FIFO and submits it only if the
submit bool is set. If it isn't set, the worker will write the next skb
which is waiting in the workqueue to the FIFO, etc.
can: m_can: Use tx_fifo_in_flight for netif_queue control
The network queue is currently always stopped in start_xmit and
continued in the interrupt handler. This is not possible anymore if we
want to keep multiple transmits in flight in parallel.
Use the previously introduced tx_fifo_in_flight counter to control the
network queue instead. This has the benefit of not needing to ask the
hardware about fifo status.
This patch stops the network queue in start_xmit if the number of
transmits in flight reaches the size of the fifo and wakes up the queue
from the interrupt handler once the transmits in flight drops below the
fifo size. This means any skbs over the limit will be rejected
immediately in start_xmit (it shouldn't be possible at all to reach that
state anyways).
The maximum number of transmits in flight is the size of the fifo.
This patch prepares the driver to control the network interface queue
based on this counter. By itself this counter be
implemented with an atomic, but as we need to do other things in the
critical sections later I am using a spinlock instead.
The current implementation uses the workqueue for peripheral chips to
submit work. Only a single work item is queued and used at any time.
To be able to keep more than one transmit in flight at a time, prepare
the workqueue to support multiple transmits at the same time.
Each work item now has a separate storage for a skb and a pointer to
cdev. This assures that each workitem can be processed individually.
The workqueue is replaced by an ordered workqueue which makes sure that
only a single worker processes the items queued on the workqueue. Also
items are ordered by the order they were enqueued. This removes most of
the concurrency the workqueue normally offers. It is not necessary for
this driver.
The cleanup functions have to be adopted a bit to handle this new
mechanism.
m_can_tx_handler is the only place where data is written to the tx fifo.
We can calculate the putidx in the driver code here to avoid the
dependency on the txfqs register.
Add TX support to get/set functions for ethtool coalescing.
tx-frames-irq and tx-usecs-irq can only be set/unset together.
tx-frames-irq needs to be less than TXE and TXB.
As rx and tx share the same timer, rx-usecs-irq and tx-usecs-irq can be
enabled/disabled individually but they need to have the same value if
enabled.
Polling is excluded from TX irq coalescing.

Add the possibility to set coalescing parameters with ethtool.
rx-frames-irq and rx-usecs-irq can only be set and unset together as the
implemented mechanism would not work otherwise. rx-frames-irq can't be
greater than the RX FIFO size.
Also all values can only be changed if the chip is not active.
Extend the coalescing implementation for transmits.
In normal mode the chip raises an interrupt for every finished transmit.
This implementation switches to coalescing mode as soon as an interrupt
handled a transmit. For coalescing the watermark level interrupt is used
to interrupt exactly after x frames were sent. It switches back into
normal mode once there was an interrupt with no finished transmit and
the timer being inactive.
The timer is shared with receive coalescing. The time for receive and
transmit coalescing timers have to be the same for that to work. The
benefit is to have only a single running timer.
m_can offers the possibility to set an interrupt on reaching a watermark
level in the receive FIFO. This can be used to implement coalescing.
Unfortunately there is no hardware timeout available to trigger an
interrupt if only a few messages were received within a given time. To
solve this I am using a hrtimer to wake up the irq thread after x
microseconds.
The timer is always started if receive coalescing is enabled and new
received frames were available during an interrupt. The timer is stopped
if during a interrupt handling no new data was available.
If the timer is started the new item interrupt is disabled and the
watermark interrupt takes over. If the timer is not started again, the
new item interrupt is enabled again, notifying the handler about every
new item received.
can: m_can: Move hrtimer init to m_can_class_register
The hrtimer_init() is called in m_can_plat_probe() and the hrtimer
function is set in m_can_class_register(). For readability it is better
to keep these two together in m_can_class_register().
can: m_can: Start/Cancel polling timer together with interrupts
Interrupts are enabled/disabled in more places than just m_can_start()
and m_can_stop(). Couple the polling timer with enabling/disabling of
all interrupts to achieve equivalent behavior.

Removed error monitoring code that used GCC's built-in compiler
functions for atomic access (__sync_* functions). GCC versions
after 9 (tested with "gcc-10 (Ubuntu 10.3.0-1ubuntu1~20.04)")
don't implement the intrinsic atomic as in-line code but call
"__aarch64_ldadd4_acq_rel" on arm64. This GCC support function
is not exported by the kernel and therefore the module build
post-processing fails.
Removed that code because the error monitoring never showed a
problem during the development this year.
Changes in v3:

But still use devm_irq_free() explicitely to make sure that the
interrupt handler is disconnected at that point.
This avoids a possible crash in non-MSI mode due to the IRQ
triggered by another device on the same PCI IRQ line.
- Changed to use DMA map API instead of pci_*_consistent compatibility
wrappers.
- Fixed stale email references and updated copyright information.
- Removed any traces of future CAN-FD support.

This patch adds support for the PCI based PCIe/402 CAN interface family
from esd GmbH that is available with various form factors
(https://esd.eu/en/products/402-series-can-interfaces).
All boards utilize a FPGA based CAN controller solution developed
by esd (esdACC). For more information on the esdACC see
https://esd.eu/en/products/esdacc.
This driver detects all available CAN interface board variants of
the family but atm. operates the CAN-FD capable devices in
Classic-CAN mode only! A later patch will introduce the CAN-FD
functionality in this driver.

can: bcm: add recvmsg flags for own, local and remote traffic
CAN RAW sockets allow userspace to tell if a received CAN frame comes
from the same socket, another socket on the same host, or another host.
See commit 1e55659ce6dd ("can-raw: add msg_flags to distinguish local
traffic"). However, this feature is missing in CAN BCM sockets.
Add the same feature to CAN BCM sockets. When reading a received frame
(opcode RX_CHANGED) using recvmsg, two flags in msg->msg_flags may be
set following the previous convention (from CAN RAW), to distinguish
between 'own', 'local' and 'remote' CAN traffic.

ipv6: mcast: remove one synchronize_net() barrier in ipv6_mc_down()
As discussed in the past (commit 2d3916f31891 ("ipv6: fix skb drops
in igmp6_event_query() and igmp6_event_report()")) I think the
synchronize_net() call in ipv6_mc_down() is not needed.
Under load, synchronize_net() can last between 200 usec and 5 ms.
KASAN seems to agree as well.

The current driver consists of two interface modules (SMI and MDIO) and
two family/variant modules (RTL8365MB and RTL8366RB). The SMI and MDIO
modules serve as the platform and MDIO drivers, respectively, calling
functions from the variant modules. In this setup, one interface module
can be loaded independently of the other, but both variants must be
loaded (if not disabled at build time) for any type of interface. This
approach doesn't scale well, especially with the addition of more switch
variants (e.g., RTL8366B), leading to loaded but unused modules.
Additionally, this also seems upside down, as the specific driver code
normally depends on the more generic functions and not the other way
around.
Each variant module was converted into real drivers, serving as both a
platform driver (for switches connected using the SMI interface) and an
MDIO driver (for MDIO-connected switches). The relationship between the
variant and interface modules is reversed, with the variant module now
calling both interface functions (if not disabled at build time). While
in most devices only one interface is likely used, the interface code is
significantly smaller than a variant module, consuming fewer resources
than the previous code. With variant modules now functioning as real
drivers, compatible strings are published only in a single variant
module, preventing conflicts.
The patch series introduces a new common module for functions shared by
both variants. This module also absorbs the two previous interface
modules, as they would always be loaded anyway.
The series relocates the user MII driver from realtek-smi to rtl83xx. It
is now used by MDIO-connected switches instead of the generic DSA
driver. There's a change in how this driver locates the MDIO node. It
now only searches for a child node named "mdio".
The dsa_switch in realtek_priv->ds is now embedded in the struct. It is
always in use and avoids dynamic memory allocation.
Testing has been performed with an RTL8367S (rtl8365mb) using MDIO
interface and an RTL8366RB (rtl8366) with SMI interface.

net: dsa: realtek: migrate user_mii_bus setup to realtek_dsa
In the user MDIO driver, despite numerous references to SMI, including
its compatible string, there's nothing inherently specific about the SMI
interface in the user MDIO bus. Consequently, the code has been migrated
to the rtl83xx module. All references to SMI have been eliminated.
The MDIO bus id was changed from Realtek-<switch id> to the switch
devname suffixed with :user_mii, giving more information about the bus
it is referencing.

Remove the line assigning dev.of_node in mdio_bus as subsequent
of_mdiobus_register will always overwrite it.
As discussed in [1], allow the DSA core to be simplified, by not
assigning ds->user_mii_bus when the MDIO bus is described in OF, as it
is unnecessary.
Since commit 3b73a7b8ec38 ("net: mdio_bus: add refcounting for fwnodes
to mdiobus"), we can put the "mdio" node just after the MDIO bus
registration.

The binding docs requires for SMI-connected devices that the switch
must have a child node named "mdio" and with a compatible string of
"realtek,smi-mdio". Meanwile, for MDIO-connected switches, the binding
docs only requires a child node named "mdio".
This patch changes the driver to use the common denominator for both
interfaces, looking for the MDIO node by name, ignoring the compatible
string.

net: dsa: realtek: convert variants into real drivers
Previously, the interface modules realtek-smi and realtek-mdio served as
a platform and an MDIO driver, respectively. Each interface module
redundantly specified the same compatible strings for both variants and
referenced symbols from the variants.
Now, each variant module has been transformed into a unified driver
serving both as a platform and an MDIO driver. This modification
reverses the relationship between the interface and variant modules,
with the variant module now utilizing symbols from the interface
modules.

net: stmmac: dwmac-qcom-ethqos: Enable TBS on all queues but 0
TSO and TBS cannot co-exist. TBS requires special descriptor to be
allocated at bootup. Initialising Tx queues at probe to support
TSO and TBS can help in allocating those resources at bootup.
TX queues with TBS can support etf qdisc hw offload.
This is similar to the patch raised by NXP

Background
==========
The size of a Linux IPv6 routing table can become a big problem if not
managed appropriately. Now, Linux has a garbage collector to remove
expired routes periodically. However, this may lead to a situation in
which the routing path is blocked for a long period due to an
excessive number of routes.
For example, years ago, there is a commit c7bb4b89033b ("ipv6: tcp:
drop silly ICMPv6 packet too big messages"). The root cause is that
malicious ICMPv6 packets were sent back for every small packet sent to
them. These packets add routes with an expiration time that prompts
the GC to periodically check all routes in the tables, including
permanent ones.
Why Route Expires
=================
Users can add IPv6 routes with an expiration time manually. However,
the Neighbor Discovery protocol may also generate routes that can
expire. For example, Router Advertisement (RA) messages may create a
default route with an expiration time. [RFC 4861] For IPv4, it is not
possible to set an expiration time for a route, and there is no RA, so
there is no need to worry about such issues.
Create Routes with Expires
==========================
You can create routes with expires with the command.
For example,
ip -6 route add 2001:b000:591::3 via fe80::5054:ff:fe12:3457 \
dev enp0s3 expires 30
The route that has been generated will be deleted automatically in 30
seconds.
GC of FIB6
==========
The function called fib6_run_gc() is responsible for performing
garbage collection (GC) for the Linux IPv6 stack. It checks for the
expiration of every route by traversing the trees of routing
tables. The time taken to traverse a routing table increases with its
size. Holding the routing table lock during traversal is particularly
undesirable. Therefore, it is preferable to keep the lock for the
shortest possible duration.
Solution
========
The cause of the issue is keeping the routing table locked during the
traversal of large trees. To solve this problem, we can create a separate
list of routes that have expiration. This will prevent GC from checking
permanent routes.
Result
======
We conducted a test to measure the execution times of fib6_gc_timer_cb()
and observed that it enhances the GC of FIB6. During the test, we added
permanent routes with the following numbers: 1000, 3000, 6000, and
9000. Additionally, we added a route with an expiration time.
Here are the average execution times for the kernel without the patch.
- 120020 ns with 1000 permanent routes
- 308920 ns with 3000 ...
- 581470 ns with 6000 ...
- 855310 ns with 9000 ...
The kernel with the patch consistently takes around 14000 ns to execute,
regardless of the number of permanent routes that are installed.

selftests/net: Adding test cases of replacing routes and route advertisements.
Add tests of changing permanent routes to temporary routes and the reversed
case to make sure GC working correctly in these cases. Add tests for the
temporary routes from RA.
The existing device will be deleted between tests to remove all routes
associated with it, so that the earlier tests don't mess up the later ones.

net/ipv6: set expires in modify_prefix_route() if RTF_EXPIRES is set.
Make the decision to set or clean the expires of a route based on the
RTF_EXPIRES flag, rather than the value of the "expires" argument.
This patch doesn't make difference logically, but make inet6_addr_modify()
and modify_prefix_route() consistent.
The function inet6_addr_modify() is the only caller of
modify_prefix_route(), and it passes the RTF_EXPIRES flag and an expiration
value. The RTF_EXPIRES flag is turned on or off based on the value of
valid_lft. The RTF_EXPIRES flag is turned on if valid_lft is a finite value
(not infinite, not 0xffffffff). Even if valid_lft is 0, the RTF_EXPIRES
flag remains on. The expiration value being passed is equal to the
valid_lft value if the flag is on. However, if the valid_lft value is
infinite, the expiration value becomes 0 and the RTF_EXPIRES flag is turned
off. Despite this, modify_prefix_route() decides to set the expiration
value if the received expiration value is not zero. This mixing of infinite
and zero cases creates an inconsistency.

net/ipv6: set expires in rt6_add_dflt_router().
Pass the duration of a lifetime (in seconds) to the function
rt6_add_dflt_router() so that it can properly set the expiration time.
The function ndisc_router_discovery() is the only one that calls
rt6_add_dflt_router(), and it will later set the expiration time for the
route created by rt6_add_dflt_router(). However, there is a gap of time
between calling rt6_add_dflt_router() and setting the expiration time in
ndisc_router_discovery(). During this period, there is a possibility that a
new route may be removed from the routing table. By setting the correct
expiration time in rt6_add_dflt_router(), we can prevent this from
happening. The reason for setting RTF_EXPIRES in rt6_add_dflt_router() is
to start the Garbage Collection (GC) timer, as it only activates when a
route with RTF_EXPIRES is added to a table.

selftests: net: ignore timing errors in txtimestamp if KSFT_MACHINE_SLOW
This test is time sensitive. It may fail on virtual machines and for
debug builds.
Similar to commit c41dfb0dfbec ("selftests/net: ignore timing errors in
so_txtime if KSFT_MACHINE_SLOW"), optionally suppress failure for timing
errors (only).
