configure: replace obsolete autoconf macros

Replace
 AC_HELP_STRING by AS_HELP_STRING,
 AC_GNU_SOURCE by AC_USE_SYSTEM_EXTENSIONS,
 AC_TRY_COMPILE by AC_COMPILE_IFELSE and
 AM_PROG_LIBTOOL by LT_INIT.
