+An improved [Jack Audio](http://jackaudio.org) backend. Testing notes:
+* At the `./configure` step, include `--with-jack`. This should not require any extra packages or libraries when it is being compiled on an AVLinux machine. No need for any other backend to be included, so you can omit `--with-alsa`, etc.
+* Tested on the latest AVLinux only.
+* Jack Audio will not run correctly on a virtual machine; it will only work properly on a real device.
+* A new set of configuration options are present in the configuration file.
+* The Shairport Sync backend will attempt, every second, to open a client on the Jack server until it succeeds. This behaviour can be stopped or the interval extended with the `jack` `auto_client_open_interval` configuration option.
