patch 9.0.1495: GTK3: hiding the mouse pointer does not work

Problem:    GTK3: hiding the mouse pointer does not work. (Rory O’Kane)
Solution:   Set alpha level to zero. (Kenny Stauffer, closes #12293,
            closes #3256)
