From: Ondřej Surý Date: Thu, 21 Aug 2025 06:56:29 +0000 (+0200) Subject: Allow negative RRSIGs in the qpcache again X-Git-Tag: v9.21.12~26^2 X-Git-Url: http://git.ipfire.org/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?a=commitdiff_plain;h=91289eb1b026c394aab140ef874de238a93e22e4;p=thirdparty%2Fbind9.git Allow negative RRSIGs in the qpcache again The previous refactoring added an assertion failure when negative RRSIG would be added to the cache database. As result, any query for RRSIG in any unsigned zone would trigger that assertion failure. Allow the negative RRSIG entries to be stored in the cache database again as not caching these would trigger new remote fetch every time such query would be received from a client. --- diff --git a/lib/dns/qpcache.c b/lib/dns/qpcache.c index db285441c48..6ced85532d6 100644 --- a/lib/dns/qpcache.c +++ b/lib/dns/qpcache.c @@ -1540,6 +1540,11 @@ qpcache_find(dns_db_t *db, const dns_name_t *name, dns_dbversion_t *version, dns_slabheader_t *nsecheader = NULL, *nsecsig = NULL; dns_typepair_t typepair, sigpair; + if (type == dns_rdatatype_none) { + /* We can't search negative cache directly */ + return ISC_R_NOTFOUND; + } + qpc_search_t search; qpc_search_init(&search, (qpcache_t *)db, options, __now); @@ -1624,11 +1629,10 @@ qpcache_find(dns_db_t *db, const dns_name_t *name, dns_dbversion_t *version, /* * Certain DNSSEC types are not subject to CNAME matching * (RFC4035, section 2.5 and RFC3007). - * - * We don't check for RRSIG, because we don't store RRSIG records - * directly. */ - if (type == dns_rdatatype_key || type == dns_rdatatype_nsec) { + if (type == dns_rdatatype_key || type == dns_rdatatype_nsec || + type == dns_rdatatype_rrsig) + { cname_ok = false; } @@ -1646,7 +1650,7 @@ qpcache_find(dns_db_t *db, const dns_name_t *name, dns_dbversion_t *version, found = NULL; foundsig = NULL; typepair = DNS_TYPEPAIR(type); - sigpair = DNS_SIGTYPEPAIR(type); + sigpair = (type != dns_rdatatype_rrsig) ?
