net/mlx5: SD, introduce Socket Direct LAG
Register SD secondary devices with the existing LAG structure by
adding them to the primary's ldev xarray with a shared group_id.
This ties the SD LAG lifecycle to the SD group lifecycle.
Add sd_lag_state debugfs entry for LAG state visibility. To avoid
race between this entry and LAG deletion, have debugfs creation
and deletion done last on SD init and first on SD cleanup.

net/mlx5: LAG, extend shared FDB API with group_id filter
Add a group_id parameter to mlx5_lag_shared_fdb_create() and
mlx5_lag_shared_fdb_destroy() to scope shared FDB operations to a
specific SD group.
When group_id is U32_MAX, the functions operate on all LAG devices. When
group_id is non-zero, they operate only on devices in that SD group
without issuing FW LAG commands, since SD LAG is a pure software
construct.

Socket Direct (SD) secondaries devices will participate in LAG, even
though they are silent. SD secondary devices share the same physical
port as their primary but are separate PCI functions that need to be
tracked alongside regular LAG ports.
Extend lag_func with a group_id field to identify SD group membership
and introduce a unified iterator that can filter by group. Add APIs
for registering SD secondary devices in an existing LAG.

Replace mlx5_eswitch_get_npeers() count-based check with a new
mlx5_eswitch_is_peer() function that directly verifies the peer
relationship between two eswitches.
This change prepares for SD LAG support, which is a virtual LAG that
does not have num_lag_ports capability and cannot use the count-based
peer validation.

Refactor shared FDB LAG logic into a new lag/shared_fdb.c file to
improve code organization and enable reuse. Move shared FDB specific
functions from lag.c and introduce consolidated APIs:
- mlx5_lag_shared_fdb_create() handles LAG activation with shared FDB
- mlx5_lag_shared_fdb_destroy() handles LAG deactivation with shared FDB
Update mlx5_do_bond(), mlx5_disable_lag() and mpesw.c to use the new
APIs, which simplifies the shared FDB code paths.

mm/mincore: handle non-swap entries before !CONFIG_SWAP guard
mincore_swap() also fields migration/hwpoison entries (and shmem
swapin-error entries), which can exist on !CONFIG_SWAP builds when
CONFIG_MIGRATION or CONFIG_MEMORY_FAILURE is enabled. The
!IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_SWAP) guard ran before the non-swap-entry early return,
so mincore_pte_range() can spuriously WARN and report these pages
nonresident on !CONFIG_SWAP kernels.
Move the guard below the non-swap-entry check so only true swap entries
trip the WARN, and migration/hwpoison entries take the existing "uptodate
/ non-shmem" path.

arm64: mm: call pagetable dtor when freeing hot-removed page tables
Since 5e8eb9aeeda3 ("arm64: mm: always call PTE/PMD ctor in
__create_pgd_mapping()") page-table allocation on ARM64 always calls
pagetable_{pte,pmd,pud,p4d}_ctor(). This sets the page_type to
PGTY_table, increments NR_PAGETABLE and possible allocates a PTL. However
the matching pagetable_dtor() calls were never added.
With DEBUG_VM enabled on kernel versions prior to v6.17 without 2dfcd1608f3a9 ("mm/page_alloc: let page freeing clear any set page type")
this leads to the following warning when freeing these pages due to

It can also lead to leaking the ptl allocation if ALLOC_SPLIT_PTLOCKS is

mm/list_lru: drain before clearing xarray entry on reparent
memcg_reparent_list_lrus() clears the dying memcg's xarray entry with
xas_store(&xas, NULL) before reparenting its per-node lists into the
parent. This opens a window where a concurrent list_lru_del() arriving
for the dying memcg sees xa_load() == NULL, walks to the parent in
lock_list_lru_of_memcg(), takes the parent's per-node lock, and calls
list_del_init() on an item still physically linked on the dying memcg's
list.
If another in-flight thread holds the dying memcg's per-node lock at the
same moment (another list_lru_del, or a list_lru_walk_one running an
isolate callback), both threads modify ->next/->prev pointers on the same
physical list under different locks. Adjacent items can corrupt each
other's links.
Fix it by reversing the order: reparent each per-node list and mark the
child's list lru dead and then clear the xarray entry. Any concurrent
list_lru op that finds the still-set xarray entry either takes the dying
memcg's per-node lock (synchronizing with the drain) or sees LONG_MIN and
walks to the parent, where the items now live.

mm/huge_memory: use correct flags for device private PMD entry
Commit 65edfda6f3f2 ("mm/rmap: extend rmap and migration support
device-private entries") updated set_pmd_migration_entry() to use
pmdp_huge_get_and_clear() in the softleaf case, but made no further
adjustments to the function itself.
Therefore this function continues to incorrectly use pmd_write(),
pmd_soft_dirty() and pmd_uffd_wp() to determine whether the installed
migration entry should be marked writable, softdirty or uffd-wp
respectively.
Whilst all are incorrect, the most problematic of these is pmd_write(), as
this can lead to corrupted rmap state.
On x86-64 _PAGE_SWP_SOFT_DIRTY is aliased to _PAGE_RW. So calling
pmd_write() on a softleaf will return the softdirty state encoded in the
entry, assuming CONFIG_MEM_SOFT_DIRTY was enabled.
This was observed when running the hmm.hmm_device_private.anon_write_child
selftest:
1. The test faults in a range then migrates it such that a device-private
THP range is established.
2. The parent then migrates it to a device-private writable PMD entry whose
folio is entirely AnonExclusive with entire_mapcount=1, softdirty set
(accidentally correct write state).
3. The parent forks and the PMD entries are set to device-private read only
entries, entire_mapcount=2, softdirty still set.
4. [BUG] The child writes to the range then migrates to RAM - intending to
install non-writable migration entries - but replacing parent and child
PMD mappings with WRITABLE entries due to misinterpreting the softdirty
bit.
5. In remove_migration_pmd(), if !softleaf_is_migration_read(entry) we
set the RMAP_EXCLUSIVE flag when calling folio_add_anon_rmap_pmd() for
both parent and child, which are therefore AnonExclusive.
6. [SPLAT] Child sets migrated folio entire_mapcount=1, parent sets
entire_mapcount=2 and we end up with an AnonExclusive folio with
entire_mapcount=2! Assert fires in __folio_add_anon_rmap():
This patch fixes the issue by correctly referencing the softleaf entry
fields for writable, softdirty and uffd-wp in set_pmd_migration_entry().
It also only updates A/D flags if the entry is present as these are
otherwise not meaningful for a softleaf entry.
This patch also flips the if (!present) { ... } else { ... } logic in
set_pmd_migration_entry() so it is easier to understand, and adds some
comments to make things clearer.
I was able to bisect this to commit 775465fd26a3 ("lib/test_hmm: add zone
device private THP test infrastructure") which first exposes this bug as
it was the commit that permitted test_hmm to generate the test.
However commit 65edfda6f3f2 ("mm/rmap: extend rmap and migration support
device-private entries") is the commit that actually enabled this
behaviour.

will always succeed once tried. If the damon_ctx allocation was failed,
therefore, code execution reaches to damon_commit_ctx() while 'ctx' is
NULL. As a result, it dereferences the NULL 'ctx' pointer. Avoid the
NULL dereference by returning -ENOMEM if 'ctx' is NULL.

mm/damon/reclaim: handle ctx allocation failure
Patch series "mm/damon/{reclaim,lru_sort}: handle ctx allocation failures".
DAMON_RECLAIM and DAMON_LRU_SORT could dereference NULL pointers if their
damon_ctx object allocations fail. The bugs are expected to happen
infrequently because the allocations are arguably too small to fail on
common setups. But theoretically they are possible and the consequences
are bad. Fix those.
The issues were discovered [1] by Sashiko.

zram: fix use-after-free in zram_bvec_write_partial()
zram_read_page() picks the sync or async backing device read path based on
whether the parent bio is NULL. zram_bvec_write_partial() passes its
parent bio down, so for ZRAM_WB slots the read is dispatched
asynchronously and zram_read_page() returns 0 while the bio is still in
flight. The caller then runs memcpy_from_bvec(), zram_write_page() and
__free_page() on the buffer, leaving the async read to write into a freed
page.
zram_bvec_read_partial() was switched to NULL in commit 4e3c87b9421d
("zram: fix synchronous reads") for the same reason; the write_partial
counterpart was missed.

tools headers UAPI: sync linux/taskstats.h for procacct.c
After commit 9b93f7e32774 ("tools/getdelays: use the static UAPI headers
from tools/include/uapi"), the Makefile was changed to use
-I../include/uapi/ instead of -I../../usr/include to ensure tools always
use the up-to-date UAPI headers.
However, only linux/taskstats.h was added to tools/include/uapi/ in commit e5bbb35a07b3 ("tools headers UAPI: sync linux/taskstats.h"), but
linux/acct.h was missing.
This causes procacct.c to fail to compile with:

mm/cma_sysfs: skip inactive CMA areas in sysfs
cma_activate_area() can fail after a CMA area has already been added to
cma_areas[]. In that case the area is left in the global array, but it
does not reach the point where CMA_ACTIVATED is set.
cma_sysfs_init() currently walks all cma_area_count entries and creates
sysfs files for every area, including ones that failed activation. These
areas are not usable CMA areas and should not be exposed to userspace as
valid CMA regions.
If such an inactive area is exposed, userspace sees a CMA directory whose
read-only accounting files report zeros. total_pages and available_pages
report zero because the failed activation path clears cma->count and
cma->available_count, while the allocation and release counters also stay
at zero because the area cannot service CMA allocations. This makes the
failed area look like a valid but empty CMA region and can mislead tests,
monitoring, and diagnostics.
Skip CMA areas that did not reach CMA_ACTIVATED when creating the sysfs
objects. Since inactive entries can now be skipped, make the error unwind
tolerate entries that never had cma_kobj initialized.

ipc/shm: serialize orphan cleanup with shm_nattch updates
shm_destroy_orphaned() walks the shm idr under shm_ids(ns).rwsem, but that
does not serialize all fields tested by shm_may_destroy(). In particular,
shm_nattch is updated while holding shm_perm.lock, and attach paths can do
that without holding the rwsem.
Do not decide that an orphaned segment is unused before taking the object
lock. Move the shm_may_destroy() check under shm_perm.lock, matching the
other destroy paths, and unlock the segment when it no longer qualifies
for removal.

bpftool: Use libbpf error code for flow dissector query
bpf_prog_query() returns a negative errno on failure.
query_flow_dissector() currently closes the namespace fd and then reads
errno to decide whether -EINVAL means that the running kernel does not
support flow dissector queries.
That errno check controls behavior, not just diagnostics: -EINVAL is
handled as a non-fatal old-kernel case, while any other error makes bpftool
net fail.
The namespace fd is opened read-only, so close() is not expected to
commonly fail in normal use. Still, the BPF_PROG_QUERY error is already
available in err, and reading errno after an intervening close() is
fragile. If close() does change errno, the compatibility branch may be
based on close()'s error instead of the BPF_PROG_QUERY result.
This was reproduced with an LD_PRELOAD fault injector that forced
BPF_PROG_QUERY for BPF_FLOW_DISSECTOR to fail with EINVAL and then
forced close() on the netns fd to fail with EIO. The unpatched bpftool
reported "can't query prog: Input/output error". With this change, the
same injected failure is handled as the intended non-fatal EINVAL
compatibility case.
Use the libbpf-returned error code instead. Keep the existing errno reset
in the non-fatal path to preserve batch mode behavior. The success path
is unchanged.

By convention MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE() immediately follows the ID table it
exports, because this is easier to read and verify. It also makes more
sense since #ifdef for ACPI or OF could hide both of them.
Most of the privers already have this correctly placed, so adjust
the missing ones. No functional impact.
power: supply: Use named initializers for arrays of i2c_device_data
While being less compact, using named initializers allows to more easily
see which members of the structs are assigned which value without having
to lookup the declaration of the struct. And it's also more robust
against changes to the struct definition.
The mentioned robustness is relevant for a planned change to struct
i2c_device_id that replaces .driver_data by an anonymous union.
While touching all these arrays, unify usage of whitespace and commas.
This patch doesn't modify the compiled arrays, only their representation
in source form benefits. The former was confirmed with x86 and arm64
builds.

The driver currently reports the 'charging' and 'overvoltage' states based
on a logical expression in the get_charger_property() wrapper function.
This doesn't scale well to other chip variants, which may have a different
number and type of hardware reported conditions which fall into these
broad power supply states.
Move the logic for determining 'charging' and 'overvoltage' states into
chip-specific accessors, which can be overridden by each variant as
needed.
This helps keep the get_charger_property() wrapper function chip-agnostic
while allowing for new chip variants to be added bringing their own logic.

power: supply: bq257xx: Consistently use indirect get/set helpers
Move the remaining get/set helper functions to indirect calls via the
per-chip bq257xx_chip_info struct.
This improves the consistency of the code and prepares the driver to
support multiple chip variants with different register layouts and bit
definitions.
The minimal system voltage (VSYSMIN) is meant to protect the battery from
dangerous over-discharge. When the device tree provides a value for the
minimum design voltage of the battery, the user should not be allowed to
set a lower VSYSMIN, as that would defeat the purpose of this protection.
Flip the clamping logic when setting VSYSMIN to ensure that battery design
voltage is respected.

irqchip/loongarch-ir: Add IR (interrupt redirection) irqchip support
The main function of the redirect interrupt controller is to manage
the redirected-interrupt table, which consists of many redirected entries.
When MSI interrupts are requested, the driver creates a corresponding
redirected entry that describes the target CPU/vector number and the
operating mode of the interrupt. The redirected interrupt module has an
independent cache, and during the interrupt routing process, it will
prioritize the redirected entries that hit the cache. The irqchip driver
can invalidate certain entry caches via a command queue.

irqchip/loongarch-avec: Return IRQ_SET_MASK_OK_DONE when keep affinity
Interrupt redirection support requires a new redirect domain, which will
appear as a child domain of avecintc domain. For each interrupt source,
avecintc domain only provides the CPU/interrupt vectors, while redirect
domain provides other operations to synchronize the interrupt affinity
information among multiple cores.
When modifying the affinity of an interrupt associated with the redirect
domain, if the avecintc domain detects that the actual interrupt affinity
hasn't been changed, then the redirect domain doesn't need to perform any
operations.
To achieve the above purpose, in avecintc_set_affinity() when the current
affinity remains valid, then return value is set to IRQ_SET_MASK_OK_DONE.
This doesn't introduce any compatibility issues, even if the new return
value causing msi_domain_set_affinity() to no longer perform the call to
irq_chip_write_msi_msg():
1) When both avecintc and redirect exist in the system, the msg_address
and msg_data no longer change after the allocation phase, so it does
not actually require updating the MSI message info.
2) When only avecintc exists in the system, the irq_domain_activate_irq()
interface will be responsible for the initial configuration of the MSI
message info, which is unconditional. After that, if unnecessary,
there is no modification to the MSI message info.

(where 'ret' was only ever 0 or < 0) into the wrapper. Tighten this check to

gpu: nova-core: move lifetime to `Bar0`
Currently Nova code uses `&'a Bar0` a lot. This is `&'a Mmio`, where `Mmio`
represents an owned MMIO region; this type only exists as a target for
`Deref` so `Bar` and `IoMem` can share code and should be avoided to be
named directly. The upcoming I/O projection series would make `Io` trait
much simpler to implement, and thus the owned MMIO type would be removed
in favour of direct `Io` implementation on `Bar` and `IoMem`.
Add lifetime parameter to `Bar0<'a>` and change it to be alias of `&'a
pci::Bar<'a, ..>`. This also prepares Nova core so that when I/O projection
series land, this could be changed to using a MMIO view type directly which
avoids double indirection.

KVM: arm64: Restart instruction upon race in __kvm_at_s12()
__kvm_at_s*() are expected to return -EAGAIN if the page table walk
raced with a concurrent update to a page table descriptor, which is
interpreted as a signal to restart the trapping instruction.
While this mostly works, __kvm_at_s12() silently eats the return from
__kvm_at_s1e01() and consumes an uninitialized PAR value. Propagate the
nonzero return instead.

KVM: arm64: nv: Fully update VNCR fixmap state in kvm_translate_vncr()
kvm_translate_vncr() first invalidates the pseudo-TLB entry and
corresponding fixmap in anticipation of installing a new translation.
While the fixmap invalidation does clear the mapping from host stage-1,
it does not clear the L1_VNCR_MAPPED flag. Depending on the state of the
VNCR TLB at vcpu_put(), this could potentially precipitate a BUG_ON() if
vt->cpu is reset.
Share a helper with kvm_vcpu_put_hw_mmu(), ensuring that KVM's view of
the VNCR fixmap is in sync with the state of the VNCR TLB. Give it a
slightly verbose name to make it obvious that it is meant to be used
local to a CPU, unlike other VNCR TLB maintenance.

arm64: cpufeature: Expose ID_AA64ISAR2_EL1.ATS1A to KVM
KVM needs to know if the HW implements FEAT_ATS1A in order to correctly
sanitise HFGITR_EL2.ATS1E1A, which otherwise defaults to RES0 and
AT S1E1A traps are handled as UNDEF.
Solves this by exposing ID_AA64ISAR2_EL1.ATS1A to the rest of the kernel.

KVM: arm64: Wire AT S1E1A in the system instruction handling table
Despite having handling code for AT S1E1A, the instruction was
never plugged into the system instruction table, leading to an
exception being injected in the guest.
If the guest is Linux and using the __kvm_at() helper, the exception
is actually handled in the helper, and KVM continues more or less
silently by reentering the guest. Not exactly what you'd expect.
Fix this by plugging the emulation code where required.

KVM: arm64: Key CPTR_EL2.E0POE propagation on FEAT_S1POE
We propagate CPTR_EL2.E0POE from a L1 into the L0 configuration, but
we key this on the L1 guest supporting FEAT_S2POE. This is obviously
wrong, as this bit is solely concerned with Stage-1 translation.
Fix this by making the update depend on FEAT_S1POE.

In cpcap_battery_detect_battery_type(), the reference to an nvmem
device obtained via nvmem_device_find() is not released with
nvmem_device_put() on the success or read-failure paths, causing a
permanent reference leak. The driver’s retry logic on subsequent
battery property reads can compound this leak, preventing the nvmem
device from ever being freed.
Found by code review.

perf symbol: Lazily compute idle
Switch from an idle boolean to a helper symbol__is_idle function. In
the function lazily compute whether a symbol is an idle function
taking into consideration the kernel version and architecture of the
machine. As symbols__insert no longer needs to know if a symbol is for
the kernel, remove the argument.
To protect against drop-filtering of legitimate setup, online, or hotplug
management functions (such as intel_idle_init), x86 matches are strictly
constrained to exact known run-loops (intel_idle, intel_idle_irq,
mwait_idle, mwait_idle_with_hints).
If the target environment OS release is unresolvable (such as on guest
traces), default to treating psw_idle as idle to prevent false
negatives and match legacy trace behavior safely.

perf symbol: Add setters for bitfields sharing a byte to avoid concurrent update issues
A problem with putting bitfields into struct symbol is that other bits in
the symbol could be updated concurrently and only one update to the
underlying storage unit happen, leading to lost updates.
To avoid this, use atomics to atomically read or set part of 16-bits
of flags in the symbol. Add accessors to simplify this.
The idle value has 3 values in preparation for a later change that
will lazily update it.

perf env: Refactor perf_env__arch_strerrno
The previous approach maps an architecture string to a function
pointer to a function that takes an int errno value and returns a
string. The new approach takes an e_machine and an errno value and
returns a string.
As the only call site is in builtin-trace.c, the e_machine is already
present and potentially more specific than the perf_env arch string
that is a single global value.
Since the errno-to-name mapping is now generated statically and no
longer depends on libtraceevent, we can remove the HAVE_LIBTRACEEVENT
guards entirely, making perf_env__arch_strerrno unconditionally
available.
The major complication in this approach is having the shell script
that generates the C code map a linux directory name to the matching
ELF machine constants. To ensure compatibility with older hosts that
have older glibc versions, output fallback definitions for newer ELF
machine constants (EM_AARCH64, EM_CSKY, EM_LOONGARCH) if they are not
defined in the system <elf.h>.

perf machine: Use perf_env e_machine rather than arch
The arch string is derived from uname and may be normalized causing
potential differences meaning the ELF machine can be more
precise. Reduce the scope of machine__is as often it is better to use
a thread for the e_machine rather than the machine. Switch from string
to ELF machine constant comparisons.

Switch to using the ELF machine from the dso or running machine rather
than the machine perf_env arch that may fall back on EM_HOST. This

perf env, dso, thread: Add _endian variants for e_machine helpers
Add perf_arch_is_big_endian(), dso__read_e_machine_endian(),
dso__e_machine_endian(), and thread__e_machine_endian() to support
bi-endianness and cross-architecture analysis without breaking the
existing API.
These helpers allow querying the absolute endianness of a DSO or
thread, which is required for tools like Capstone that need to set the
correct disassembly mode.

No in-tree user still provides `max17042_platform_data` or
`max17042_reg_data`. Move the simple runtime fields into
`struct max17042_chip`, populate them directly from DT or the default
hardware state, and drop the unused public platform-data interface.
While here, write the MAX17047/MAX17050 default `FullSOCThr` value
directly in probe instead of carrying it through an `init_data` table.

perf env: Add perf_env__e_machine helper and use in perf_env__arch
Add a helper that lazily computes the e_machine and falls back to EM_HOST.
Use the perf_env's arch to compute the e_machine if available, using a
binary search for efficiency while handling duplicate rules.
Switch perf_env__arch to be derived from e_machine for consistency.
To support 32-bit compat binaries on 64-bit hosts during dynamic local
or live operations, unpopulated arch fallback paths query uname() at
runtime to dynamically resolve the correct host e_machine, safely
preventing bitness misclassification regressions.
Update session and header to use the helper to safely record e_machine
and flags without forcing premature thread scanning.

perf test: Add file offset diagnostic test for corrupted perf.data
Add a shell test that verifies the file_offset diagnostic messages
work correctly when perf encounters corrupted events.
The test corrupts a MMAP2 event's size field in a recorded perf.data
file, then checks that perf report produces warning messages that
include both the file offset (e.g. "at offset 0x2738:") and the
event type name with numeric id (e.g. "MMAP2 (10)").
This exercises the diagnostic improvements from the file_offset
series, which retrofitted all skip/stop/error messages to include
the position and type of the problematic event.

perf sched: Replace BUG_ON on invalid CPU with graceful skip
latency_switch_event(), latency_runtime_event(), and map_switch_event()
use BUG_ON(cpu >= MAX_CPUS || cpu < 0) to validate the sample CPU.
When PERF_SAMPLE_CPU is absent from the sample type,
evsel__parse_sample() initializes sample->cpu to (u32)-1. Casting
this to int yields -1, which triggers the BUG_ON and aborts perf sched.
The central CPU validation in perf_session__deliver_event() intentionally
preserves the (u32)-1 sentinel for downstream tools like perf script
and perf inject, so leaf callbacks must handle it themselves.
Replace the three BUG_ON calls with graceful skips using pr_warning(),
matching the existing pattern in process_sched_switch_event() and
process_sched_runtime_event() earlier in the same file. Include the
file offset for cross-referencing with perf report -D.

perf timechart: Fix cat_backtrace() use-after-free on corrupted callchain
cat_backtrace() uses open_memstream() to build a backtrace string.
When an invalid callchain context is encountered, zfree(&p) frees
the memstream buffer, then the exit path calls fclose(f), which
flushes to the already-freed buffer — a use-after-free. The function
then returns a dangling pointer that the caller passes to a handler
and subsequently double-frees.
Fix by replacing the zfree(&p) with a 'corrupted' flag. At the exit
label, always fclose(f) first (which finalizes the buffer), then
conditionally free it when corrupted. This ensures the memstream
contract is honored: the buffer remains valid until fclose().
While here, update the machine__resolve failure message to include
file_offset and the event type name, matching the pattern from the
preceding series. Also update the three legacy power event handlers
under SUPPORT_OLD_POWER_EVENTS to include file_offset in their
out-of-bounds CPU messages for consistency.

perf tools: Include file offset and event type name in skip messages
Add the perf.data file offset and use perf_event__name() instead of raw
event type integers in the 'problem processing event, skipping it'
messages emitted by process_sample_event() callbacks across annotate,
c2c, diff, kmem, kvm, kwork, lock, report, script, and build-id.
This lets users cross-reference skipped events with 'perf report -D'
output. Also add explicit #include "util/event.h" and <inttypes.h>
where needed to avoid depending on transitive includes.

perf sample: Add file_offset field to struct perf_sample
Add a file_offset field to struct perf_sample so that event processing
callbacks can report the byte offset of the problematic event in
perf.data, letting users cross-reference with 'perf report -D' output.
Set sample.file_offset in perf_session__deliver_event(), which is the
common entry point for both file mode (mmap'd offset) and pipe mode
(running byte counter from __perf_session__process_pipe_events).
The assignment is placed after evsel__parse_sample(), which zeroes
the struct via memset.
Preserve file_offset through the deferred callchain delivery path by
storing it in struct deferred_event and restoring it after
evlist__parse_sample() in both evlist__deliver_deferred_callchain()
and session__flush_deferred_samples().
Subsequent patches will use this field in skip/stop warning messages.

drm/amd/pm: smu_v14_0_0: use SoftMin for gfxclk in set_soft_freq_limited_range
In smu_v14_0_0_set_soft_freq_limited_range(), the gfxclk floor is
programmed via SetHardMinGfxClk together with SetSoftMaxGfxClk. Under
power_dpm_force_performance_level=high this pins HardMin to peak gfxclk.
In PMFW arbitration HardMin has higher priority than SoftMax, so the
firmware thermal/PPT throttler cannot clamp gfxclk via SoftMax once
HardMin is set to peak. Replace SetHardMinGfxClk with SetSoftMinGfxclk
so the driver still requests peak performance but the firmware
throttler retains the ability to clamp gfxclk under thermal/PPT
pressure. SoftMax handling is unchanged and no other clock domains
are affected.

drm/amdgpu: Fix incorrect VRAM GART mappings on non-4K page size systems
When mapping VRAM pages into the GART page table,
amdgpu_gart_map_vram_range() assumes that the system page size is the
same as the GPU page size.
On systems with non-4K page sizes, multiple GPU pages can exist within
a single CPU page. As a result, the mappings are created incorrectly
because fewer page table entries are programmed than required.
Fix this by programming the mappings correctly for non-4K page size
systems.

In case when queue_create fails and mqd has already been
allocated and hence wptr_obj is not cleaned up.

drm/amdgpu/userq: remove the vital queue unmap logging
Mesa userqueues free does not wait for the free to complete and go ahead
in unmapping the vital bos while kernel is still in queue free and
corresponding cleanup.
So ideally we don't need the logging for that and hence remove the warn
message as this is expected behaviour and functionally, we are making
sure to wait for the required fences before unmap.

drm/amdkfd: Fix buffer overflow in SDMA queue checkpoint/restore on GFX11
The v11 MQD manager incorrectly assigned the CP-compute variants of
checkpoint_mqd/restore_mqd for KFD_MQD_TYPE_SDMA queues. These functions
use sizeof(struct v11_compute_mqd) (2048 bytes) instead of sizeof(struct
v11_sdma_mqd) (512 bytes), causing a 1536-byte overflow.
During CRIU checkpoint of an SDMA queue on Navi3x:
- checkpoint_mqd() reads 2048 bytes from a 512-byte SDMA MQD buffer,
leaking 1536 bytes of adjacent GTT memory to userspace
During CRIU restore:
- restore_mqd() writes 2048 bytes into a 512-byte SDMA MQD buffer,
corrupting 1536 bytes of adjacent GTT memory (often the ring buffer
or neighboring MQDs)
This is a copy-paste regression unique to v11. All other ASIC backends
(cik, vi, v9, v10, v12) correctly use the SDMA-specific variants.
Add checkpoint_mqd_sdma() and restore_mqd_sdma() functions that properly
handle the smaller v11_sdma_mqd structure, matching the pattern used in
other MQD managers.

drm/amdkfd: fix NULL dereference in get_queue_ids()
When usr_queue_id_array is NULL and num_queues is non-zero,
get_queue_ids() returns NULL. The callers check only IS_ERR() on the
return value; since IS_ERR(NULL) == false the check passes, and
suspend_queues() calls q_array_invalidate() which immediately
dereferences NULL while iterating num_queues times.
Userspace can trigger this via kfd_ioctl_set_debug_trap() by supplying
num_queues > 0 with a zero queue_array_ptr, causing a kernel panic.
A NULL usr_queue_id_array with num_queues == 0 is a legitimate no-op
(q_array_invalidate never executes, and resume_queues already guards
all queue_ids dereferences behind a NULL check). Return ERR_PTR(-EINVAL)
only when num_queues is non-zero and the pointer is absent; both callers
already propagate IS_ERR() returns correctly to userspace.

drm/amdgpu: set noretry=1 as default for GFX 10.1.x (Navi10/12/14)
Problem:
While developing the amd_close_race IGT test (which intentionally triggers
execute permission faults by removing VM_PAGE_EXECUTABLE from GPU page table
entries), we discovered that on Navi10 (GFX 10.1.x) these faults produce
zero diagnostic output. The GPU simply hangs silently for ~10s until the
scheduler timeout fires. There is no way to distinguish an execute
permission fault from any other type of GPU hang.
Root cause:
GFX 10.1.x defaults to noretry=0, which sets
RETRY_PERMISSION_OR_INVALID_PAGE_FAULT=1 in the GFXHUB UTCL2 registers
(gfxhub_v2_0.c line 313). With this bit set, permission faults (valid PTE,
wrong R/W/X bits) are handled entirely within the UTCL1/UTCL2 hardware
loop: UTCL2 returns an XNACK to UTCL1, and UTCL1 re-requests the
translation indefinitely, expecting software to eventually fix the
permission bits (as happens in SVM/HMM recovery). No interrupt of any kind
reaches the IH ring.
This is different from invalid-page faults (V=0) which DO generate a retry
fault interrupt that the driver can escalate to a no-retry fault. Permission
faults with valid PTEs loop silently forever in hardware.
GFX 10.3+ already defaults to noretry=1, which makes permission faults
generate immediate L2 protection fault interrupts. GFX 10.1.x was
inadvertently left out of this default.
Fix:
Change the noretry=1 threshold from IP_VERSION(10, 3, 0) to
IP_VERSION(10, 1, 0) in amdgpu_gmc_noretry_set(). This is a one-line
change that aligns GFX 10.1.x behavior with GFX 10.3+ and all newer
generations.
With noretry=1, the existing non-retry fault handler
(gmc_v10_0_process_interrupt) already decodes and prints the full
GCVM_L2_PROTECTION_FAULT_STATUS register including PERMISSION_FAULTS,
faulting address, VMID, PASID, and process name. No additional logging
code is needed — the fix is purely routing permission faults to the
existing, fully-capable non-retry interrupt handler.
v2: Dropped GFX10-specific logging from gmc_v10_0.c and
kfd_int_process_v10.c (Felix Kuehling). v1 added logging in the retry
fault handler, but with noretry=1 permission faults take the non-retry
path — the v1 retry handler code was dead and would never execute.
Tested on Navi10 (GFX 10.1.10):

When the fault stop mode isn't AMDGPU_VM_FAULT_STOP_ALWAYS,

drm/amd/pm: zero unused SMU argument registers
SMU messages may use fewer arguments than the available argument registers,
the previous code only wrote used registers and left the rest unchanged,
so stale values from a prior message could persist.
Write all argument registers for each message and zero the unused tail
to keep command arguments deterministic and avoid unintended carry-over.

runtime value instead of the PP table default, and min/max could be derived
from inconsistent bases (MsgLimits/runtime), leading to incorrect cap info.
Use SocketPowerLimitAc/Dc as the PP default base (pp_limit), keep
current_power_limit as runtime value, and derive min/max from pp_limit with
OD percentages.

drm/amd/pm: apply SMU 13.0.10 workaround during MP1 unload
On SMU v13.0.10, sending PrepareMp1ForUnload with the default
parameter may leave the device in an inaccessible state. This can
affect runtime power management and partial PnP flows.
e.g: kexec, driver unload, boco/d3cold.
Pass the required workaround parameter 0x55, when preparing MP1 for
unload on SMU v13.0.10, keep the existing behavior for other SMU
versions.

drm/amdgpu: Align amdgpu_gtt_mgr entries to TLB size on all SI
It seems that Pitcairn has the same issues as Tahiti
with regards to the TLB size. This commit fixes a
VCE1 FW validation timeout on suspend/resume on Pitcairn.
